-The power output from a power pack looks like a spike on a graph.
How to we measure the flash duration?

What is the problem with using t.5?
it represents quite a bit of light, so if you have moving subjects you may still get blur because they will be moving while there is still light. So using T0.1 is more accurate because it measures a greater amount of light.
What if we fire a flash at half the power output

However, you never reach enough kelvin to get a blue light so the light will be very yellow the whole time.
What does it look like on a graph? The same, but half as high
If you have one flash at full power and one at half then you will encounter color balance issues. This is fixed by complicated devices inside quality flashes. Or you can use a lower output and chop the flash duration off.
How does the color of the flash change over the flash duration?
At maximum intensity the light is blue
When starting off, the light is red-orange and as it drops off it returns to this.

Camera calibration
-need even lighting
-calibrated camera is important for accurate copy work
When is it NOT useful? when the light is changing, so you only need to calibrate for a very controlled situation.
-photograph test target, feed into eye one and then it creates a profile to put on your camera of can be applied to the images during editing.
